Formalin 37% is a clear solution with a blue color and soluble in water in different proportions. Formalin 37% solution can be used as a disinfectant in the veterinary industry due to the presence of formaldehyde (methanal).
In the composition of formalin 37% of blue methylene is used as a source of blue color, which can be useful in indexing consumption at the time of dilution.
Another use of this substance is its use as a fixative in the preparation of tissue samples for anatomical dissection or histological examination.

Usage Method

For disinfecting surfaces: Prepare a 5% solution from 37% formalin.

For disinfecting the air of the hall: Mix formalin and potassium permanganate together in a 2:1 ratio.
